To change the ringtone on a Videx 3171 digital intercom (part of the 3000 series), follow these steps while the handset is in standby mode (hooked on):
- Enter Programming Mode: Press and hold the "Key" (door release) button for approximately 10 seconds. The intercom will play the currently selected melody and then emit a beep.
- Select a New Melody: Press and release the "Key" button to scroll through the available melodies.
- Confirm the Selection: After the beep at the end of a melody, do not press the key for 3–5 seconds. The intercom will emit a confirmation beep, and the last melody heard will be saved. Videx Security +1
Additional Information
- Volume Adjustment: The call tone volume can be adjusted using the 3-position switch located on the side of the unit (low, medium, high).
- Number of Rings: The number of rings can be adjusted between 3 or 6, often requiring a change to an internal jumper (JP4) on the PCB. Videx Security +1
